All station house officers, assistant and deputy commissioners of police in Ambala and Panchkula districts have been asked by the regional police commissioner to 'adopt' a village to develop better relation with rural people.
Police Commissioner, Ambala-Panchkula range, R C Mishra today said the concerned officer would collect the data of development and problems of his adopted village and would remain in touch with the residents.
Mishra said he has asked the police officers to spend one night every month in their adopted village to access the ground level difficulties there.

The CP added that he has directed the in-charges of police posts and police stations to behave with the complainants in a polite manner and give special attention to women and senior citizens.
He told reporters here that CCTV cameras would be installed in all the main markets, public places, educational institutions, industrial units and various residential colonies with the cooperation of district administration and traders.
He said a PCR vehicle with women cops on duty would be deployed outside colleges to keep a check on eve teasing.
