A new screen made of mist can be manipulated with hand gestures and you can even walk right through it.

The Leia Display System (LDS) developed by a Polish company is lot like a large touchscreen, however its screen is not solid and is rather made from mist.

A person can walk right through the screen, manipulate displayed images using hand gestures reminiscent of 2002 American science fiction 'Minority Report', or even interact with the display using their whole body, 'Gizmag' reported.

The LDS unit comprises a frame in which a thin layer of mist is created, blown from bottom-up.

A projector then beams images onto the mist, and an integrated gesture control system allows a user to manipulate the images displayed.

The LDS seems to best its rivals in image quality and its accuracy also looks impressive, enabling handwriting or drawing in mid-air, the report said.

The system is primarily targeted towards the marketing industry and events and may find several other uses such as in gaming, large-scale architectural presentations and construction industry, it said.
