Madras High Court today directed that a petition by Puthiya Tamilagam founder leader K Krishnasamy, MLA, seeking to quash recent appointments of TNPSC members to be tagged with similar pleas pending before it on the same matter.

First bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M M Sundresh passed the order when the petition came up for hearing.

Submitting that the government all of a sudden passed the order appointing 11 members to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), Krishnasamy sought them to be declared as unconstitutional, unfair, and illegal.

The petitioner further claimed the appointments were made in a hurried manner without verifying the antecedents of the members and seven of whom were members of ruling AIADMK's advocate wing.

DMK and PMK have already filed petitions challenging the appointment of members to the TNPSC.
