Now you can have a Bengali audio book app on your mobile

With the introduction of 'Power Talking Books' app, books will now come alive and characters talk with just a touch on your mobile screens.

The app, which has a free and a subscription versions, was launched today in presence of leading Bengali authors.

The app is currently available at Google Play store for Android users, but will soon be available in i-stores.

"People are shifting from television and printed material like newspaper and books to mobile phones as their source of information and entertainment," Pinaki Ghosh said on behalf of 'Power Talking Books' app.

This will also be a boon for the visually challenged people, Ghosh said.
 

The app's free section consists of one short story at a time while its subscribers will get novels and short story collections.

Leading Bengali authors like Sukanto Gangopadhay, Ullas Mallick, Caesar Bagchi, Saikat Mukhopadhyay and writer-publisher Tridib Kumar Chattopadhay were among those present at the app launch programme.

A discussion on digital form of presentation of literature was also organised on the occasion.
