"We condemned the decision of the UPA government to steeply hike the prices of diesel which is a common man's fuel," Opposition Leader Conrad K Sangma told PTI.
Land-locked state like Meghalaya will certainly be at the receiving end with such a decision. Which is not justified whatsoever, former Lok Sabha speaker P A Sangma's son said demanding immediate roll back of the decision on diesel and LPG.
"We will be organizing protest throughout the state, the date and nature of protest will be announced later," NPP state president W R Kharlukhi said.
United Democratic Party (UDP), a coalition partner of the Congress-led government in Meghalaya, also aired their disappointment on the issue.
"A fifth raise of fuel price in one year will hit hard the consumers," UDP Working President Paul Lyngdoh said.
