Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today rubbished BSP Chief Mayawati's allegation that the government was misusing CBI against her in the multi-crore NRHM scam probe.
"CBI does its work on the basis of proofs. There is no need to draw any other conclusion (from the agency's actions)," he said.
His remarks came at Cabinet briefing in response to a question soon after Mayawati accused the government of misusing CBI after the agency decided to question her on the NRHM scam nearly four years after it surfaced.

Prasad also took poshots at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asking why he is always looking for a "fight" and advised him to focus on governance instead.
"Why should we accept as evidence whatever they have said (on onion prices). There are questions on the margins that they are saying. Our good wishes to them. They should run the government properly.
"I want to say one more thing. Why a fight is necessary on all issues and with everyone. Fight with the Prime Minister, fight with the Home Minister, fight with (Lt Governor) Najeeb Jung," Prasad said.
He was reacting to a question over AAP denying reports that the Delhi government sold onions here at Rs 30 a kg after procuring it the kitchen staple at around Rs 18 a kg and put the blame on the Centre for this.
AAP claimed the Delhi government bought onions from Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC), which comes under the central government, at Rs 32.86/kg. It further said that the Nashik wholesale market sold the onions to SFAC, not to the AAP government.
