Press Trust of India Jalandhar
The family of a 4-year-old NRI girl today claimed that doctors of a private hospital here have "negligently" performed surgery on the girl's unaffected eye.

Mandeep Singh's daughter Kirandip had developed problems in her left eye and he had come to Jalandhar from Manila, Philippines for her treatment.

Her uncle Pavitar Singh claimed that doctors from a private hospital here operated her right eye instead of the left eye.

"When complained about the incident, the hospital's director JJ Singh said that another operation will be done and no fees will be charged," he claimed.

He further claimed that they also filed a complaint with the police.

SHO of Police Station no 6 Nirmal Singh said, "we have received a complaint which will be forwarded to the health department."

Meanwhile, Jalandhar's Civil Surgeon R L Baraswan said that he is not aware about the incident. And if the hospital management or the doctor is found to be guilty then only case will be registered, he said.
