NRL highest Corporate Tax Payer in NE region

Public sector undertaking Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has emerged as the highest Corporate Tax Payer in the North Eastern Region for the Assessment Year (AY) 2017-18, a company release said today.

The refinery was honoured for the feat on the occasion of the 158th Income Tax Day celebration here last evening.

A Category-I Miniratna PSU having the largest installed capacity of 3.0 MMTPA in the North-East, the NRL has paid Corporate Income Tax of Rs 934.97 crore for the AY 2017-18, the release said.

The refinery has also paid Dividend Distribution Tax of Rs 202.17 crore, taking the tally of total taxes paid to Rs 1137.14 crore.

 

During FY 2017-18, the company's revenue from operations has increased by 14.17 per cent to Rs 15,923.19 crore as against Rs 13,946.92 crore during FY 2016-17.

Profit for the FY 2017-18 was impressive at Rs 2,044.65 crore as against Rs 2,100.57 crore in FY 2016-17, the release said.

The NRL has a product range comprising LPG, Naphtha, Motor Spirit (Petrol), Aviation Turbine Fuel, High Speed Diesel, Superior Kerosene Oil, Raw/Calcined Petroleum Coke, Sulphur and Paraffin Wax.

Post commissioning of its Wax Plant in March, 2015, the NRL has emerged as the largest Wax producing unit in the country, the release added.
