NRL sets up water purification system as part of CSR

Public sector Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) has set up water purification system and is providing safe drinking water to people in Golaghat district as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), a company release said.

As part of the initiative, NRL and Eureka Forbes Institute of Environment have set up water purification systems in nine schools, bus stand at Bokakhat, Furkating railway station and Golaghat railway station in the district, the NRL release said.

Each water plant is operational for approximately five hours and can supply up to 14,000 litres of safe drinking water in a day benefiting around 7441 residents, the release said.

 

The quality of water dispensed strictly adheres to all standards and requirements of the World Health Organisation, it said.

Residents have been provided water cards with their names on it that need to be placed on the machine for accessing instant safe and healthy drinking water, the release added.
