NSDC, Hindustan Coca-Cola join hands for skill development

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) today said it has signed an agreement with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt with an aim to equip youth and women with retail skills.

The MoU, signed for five years, is designed to impart skill training in retail programmes to 15,000 women through an initiative called PRAGATI to improve their employability potential.

PRAGATI will focus on implementing customised programmes to help prospective women entrepreneurs across the country.

The target locations for PRAGATI include Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu, Bihar, the North-East, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

"This partnership aims at building and enhancing employability potential of youth and women and helping get them integrated into economic mainstream by way of finding employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, as may be the case," said Shukla Wassan, ED, Legal & Company Secretary, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt.
