The Congress-affiliated NSUI protested against newly elected DUSU president Ankiv Baisoya of the ABVP for allegedly submitting "fake" documents to gain admission to the varsity while the AISA claimed he was enrolled at DU's College of Vocational Studies.

The National Students' Union Of India also submitted a complaint to Delhi University's vice-chancellor to take legal action in the matter.

Meanwhile, the Left-backed All India Students' Association claimed that Baisoya was enrolled at DU's College of Vocational Studies.

AISA's DU president Kawalpreet Kaur said, "Baisoya claims to have studied at Tamil Nadu while on the other hand the official website of Delhi University's College of Vocational Studies recognises Ankiv Baisoya as a student. How in that case is he claiming to have studied at TN University even as it has declared that the degree being circulated under his name is fake?"

She said the AISA has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Dean Of Student Welfare demanding immediate enquiry into the certificate produced by Baisoya during the time of admission.

"The complaint has been forwarded to the HoD of the Buddhist Department in which he is currently enrolled. We demand that the university admission must immediately cancel the nomination of Ankiv Baisoya and initiate a police enquiry if found to have submitted a fake degree," Kaur added.

The NSUI organised a protest at the Arts Faculty against the DU administration to reinforce its demand of proper legal action against the Baisoya's "degree scandal".

The NSUI demanded hat stringent measures must be taken to resolve this issue with their main demand being cancellation of not only the candidature and election of ABVP presidential candidate but also the revocation of his DU admission.

In response to AISA's allegations, the ABVP said, "Baisoya had enrolled in DU for graduation in 2013 but left it midway to go to Thiruvalluvar University. He got his admission cancelled in 2016."

On Tuesday, the NSUIreleased a letter from Thiruvalluvar University sent in response to a communication from the student's body. It stated that the BA certificate submitted by Basoya from the university is fake.
