Congress students' wing NSUI today staged a demonstration outside the HRD Ministry here against the "hasty" implementation of Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) and demanded its immediate roll back.
Led by its president Roji M John, activists of National Students Union of India (NSUI) staged a march towards the ministry's building during which they shouted slogans and raised placards that listed "drawbacks" of CBCS.
"The autonomy of educational institutions is being challenged and CBCS is being imposed without considering the views of students and teachers," Roji said.

The NSUI memorandum accused the HRD Ministry of introducing CBCS in an attempt to implement its "hidden agenda" of "total control" by taking away the autonomy from educational institutions and also to make way for "privatisation of education.
