NTPC, HUDCO raise Rs 1,370 cr via bonds on BSE e-book platform

NTPC and HUDCO today raised Rs 670 crore and Rs 700 crore respectively through issuance of debt securities on BSE's newly launched electronic book mechanism platform.

Besides, Power Finance Corporation had raised Rs 2,470 crore by issuing bonds on September 9, 2016, BSE said in a release.

The platform -- BSE Bond-- was launched in July to facilitate online bidding for private placement of debt securities.

So far this fiscal, 24 issuers have raised Rs 42,336 crore using the BSE debt platform, the exchange said.

"We are delighted with the response we have received from the companies including private sector, PSUs, housing finance companies for BSE Bond platform," BSE's MD and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan said.
 

BSE has been the preferred exchange to raise capital in India. It is the market leader with the total fund raising of about Rs 2,65,000 crore from August 2015 to July 2016. It is also the market leader in corporate debt issuances with a market share of 90 per cent in the last three years.
