The number of colleges in West Bengal are not adequate in comparison with the students seeking admission, Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi said here today.
Tripathi when asked by media about his reaction on the problems surfacing in the wake of online admission in colleges said "the idea is good but whenever problems are surfacing it's due to lesser number of colleges in comparison with number of students."
"Merit should be the first priority for admission", he said.

Tripathi had come to Mohanpur in Nadia district to attend the third convocation of Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research.
During his convocation address, Tripathi said, "The Nation is built by discovery in science field.
