Parents who could not apply for their wards admission to nursery class owing to the upper age limit set by the AAP government, heaved a sigh of relief after the Delhi High Court ordered a stay on the ceiling.
"The limit set by the government was weird. A kid cannot be below 3 and above 4 at the time of admissions. Means owing to difference of few months, a child will not be able to secure admission and hence wont study ever," said Reshma Kautilya, a parent.
Pratima Bhardwaj, another parent who could not apply earlier said: "The court's decision came at a very apt time else my son's one year would have been wasted. I am glad there is a four-day window also to apply for parents who could not apply earlier under the impression that they aren't eligible".

The Kejriwal government had last December fixed an upper age limit to be followed by private unaided schools for admission to entry level classes with the maximum age for nursery admissions being set at four years.
In yet another set back to the AAP government, Delhi High Court on Friday stayed its notification fixing four years as the upper age limit for nursery admission in private unaided schools of the national capital.
The high court's decision came a day after it stayed another order of the Delhi government scrapping management quota and 11 other criteria regarding nursery admissions.
The court also directed that "all children above the age of four years desirous of seeking admission in pre-school or nursery can apply for admissions for the academic year 2016-17 on or before February 9 by 4 PM".
