An National Volunteer Force member and a policeman were assaulted by a group of persons at Rampurhat in Birbhum district, the police said today.
The two men in uniform were on duty when they had an altercation with the members of the group over some issue last night.
The two sustained minor injuries and one person was arrested, the police said.
