Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), a central government body, today announced it will set up a resource centre at Mhow, the birthplace of Dr B R Ambedkar, near here in Madhya Pradesh.

The announcement was made on the eve of the Dalit icon's 125th birth anniversary.

NYKS, which functions under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will use the resource centre to propagate the thoughts of the Constitution-maker.

"The Government has given in-principle nod to open the centre. We are expecting the final approval shortly," NYKS national vice president Vishnudutt Sharma told reporters here.

Ambedkar's thoughts played a vital role in safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country. So we want his thoughts to reach as many youths as possible, he said.

"We have constituted 100 youth clubs to promote Ambedkar's views," Sharma said.

NYKS, the world's largest youth network, will take out a 'water procession' on April 21 from Mhow, which will reach Ujjain, some 70km away, the same day, Sharma said.

Water brought from different parts of Madhya Pradesh by NYKS activists will be taken in a procession and poured into the river Shipra on the banks of which the Simhasta-Kumbh mela starts on April 22 in Ujjain.
