US President Barack Obama was briefed by his national security team on the Malaysian plane crash in Ukraine today.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Obama has been briefed about the airliner crash and had instructed his staff to keep him updated.
Obama also asked his officials to contact senior Ukrainian officials, Earnest told reporters travelling with the President abroad Air Force One.
However, Earnest did not confirm the crash itself, just that the White House had seen reports on it.
