President Barack Obama has invited Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for a meeting at the White House in October, US National Security Advisor Susan Rice said today.
Rice, who met Sharif in Islamabad today, wrote on twitter that she conveyed Obama's invitation to him to visit the White House for a meeting in October.
"Conveyed @POTUS invitation to PM Sharif to visit the @WhiteHouse in October to continue discussions," she wrote.

"Inspired by their indispensable work for human rights & civil liberties," she said.
During her day-long visit, Rice held talks with the top Pakistani leadership including Prime Minister Sharif, her counterpart Sartaj Aziz and army chief Gen Raheel Sharif.
Rice arrived in Islamabad from China.
