Barack Obama will become the first US president to visit atomic bomb-struck Hiroshima during a trip to Hiroshima later this month, the White House said today.

"The President will make a historic visit to Hiroshima with Prime Minister (Shinzo) Abe to highlight his continued commitment to pursuing the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons," said spokesman Josh Earnest.
