President Barack Obama is vowing that al-Qaida suspect Abu Anas al-Libi will be brought to justice.

Obama says the US has strong evidence that al-Libi planned and helped execute plots that helped kill hundreds of people.

The US had long sought al-Libi for his alleged role in the 1998 bombings of US embassies in Africa. He was captured in Libya Saturday and is being held aboard the USS San Antonio.

That raid came the same day as another US counterterrorism raid in Somalia.

Obama says Africa has become a place where it's easier for terrorists to hide. He says the US will have to keep targeting terrorists, but he says that's different than being involved in wars.
