Obama visit: Top UP Police, intel officers in Agra

Senior police and intelligence officers were in Agra today to review security arrangements ahead of US President Barak Obama's visit on January 27.

"Senior officers including Director General, Security and intelligence officers made spot visit of Agra and held meeting to coordinate with various agencies involved in security of Obama's visit", IG (law and Order) A Satish Ganesh told reporters here.

Ganesh said that Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan would hold video conferencing with officers at Agra tomorrow to review preparations.

He said that for security purposes DG (Security) Gopal Gupta has been stationed in Agra as the nodal officer and ADG (Law and Order) Mukul Goel was also sent to work out requirement of force for the visit.
 

Agra administration has demanded 10 SPs, 12 ASPs, 24 DSPs, 10 company CPMF, 12 company PAC and one company of flood division for the security.

UP government has authorised the state police to hire a helicopter to assist in air security.

"The state government has authorised the police to hire a Pawanhans helicopter for the next 11 days to assist in the air security, " Ganesh had said.
