A 45-year-old personnel of the OCTOPUS, the elite anti-terror force of the Telangana Police, died here today, days after suffering injuries during a mock drill last week, police said.
Ramavath Lakpathi Nayak had sustained injuries along with four other personnel of the OCTOPUS (Organisation for Counter Terrorist Operations), when their car, driven by Nayak, rammed into a mini-bus (part of the drill) during the exercise under Adibatla police station limits on January 23.
Nayak, who suffered severe injuries, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Four other personnel had suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The personnel in the car and the bus were performing a drill of "terror suspects being chased by the police" when the car rammed into the bus from behind, police had said.
