DTC today ran around 5,000 buses to help commuters on the first full working day in the fortnight long odd-even road rationing scheme that kicked off on April 15.
A total of 4,497 buses including 4,029 buses from DTC fleet and 468 'Paryavaran Sewa' buses hired by it for the second phase of the plan, were pressed into service, a senior Transport Department official.
On the first two days, the ridership figures had stood at 36.84 lakh and 38.94 lakh respectively, he said.
