Odisha 23rd state film awards announced

"Eka Eka" also bagged the Mohan Sunder Goswami Dev Award as the best feature film for the year 2011. Archita Sahu was selected for the best actress award for her performance in "Chocolate" and Aparajita Mohanty as best supporting actress in the same film.

Priya Chaudhury received the special jury award for her performance in "Chandini I miss you".

Veteran actor, director Prasanta Nanda was selected best director and best story teller awards for his film "Thukul".

The film "Thukul's" crew bagged four awards including Abhiram Mishra for best photographer, Pramod Pati award Minaketan for best supporting actor and Khirod Panda for best makeup man award.

 

Krishna got the best playback singer award for "Mu Premi Mu Pagala" and Ira Mohanty as best playback woman singer for "Mote Bohu Kari Neija".

Premananda got the best music director award for "Chandini I Miss You" while Arun Mantri received the state award for best lyrics in "Kebe Tume Naha kebe mu nahin".

This year the state government added five new categories of awards including best film in any tribal language of Odisha, best dialogue writer, best costume award, best makeup man and best choreography award.

This year no film was selected for categories like best educational/children film, best documentary film and best film in any tribal language in Odisha.
