Odisha government today approved three projects involving an investment of Rs 864 crore with the potential to create employment opportunities for 2135 people.
The projects were cleared by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary A P Padhi.
The SLSWCA approved a multi layered double coated paper board manufacturing unit of West Coast Paper Mill Ltd. The 1,32,000-tonne per annum (TPA) capacity unit along with a 12 MW captive power plant will come up at Sonepur at an investment of Rs 750 crore and will provide employment to nearly 700 people.

Similarly, a maize processing plant by Vijaynagar Biotech Private Limited at Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district has got SLSWCA nod. The 50,000-tonne maize processing plant will entail an investment of Rs 59 crore. This will create employment opportunity for 400 people.
This apart, Kader Investment and Trading Co Pvt Ltd's Sea Food Park at Deras on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar has also been cleared by the SLSWCA. The company is one of the largest seafood exporters and the proposed Sea Food Park will be set up at an estimated cost of Rs 55 crore and generate employment for 1,035 people.
"Our main thrust is to make all possible efforts for ease of doing business in Odisha. We are ensuring that all project approvals are in place within 15-30 days. We further aim to bring in more industry freidly measures to allow industries to floush in the state," said industries secretary Sanjeev Chopra.
