Congress members rushed to well of the House seeking a ruling from deputy speaker S Marndi, who was presiding over the session. Unable to run the House, the deputy speaker adjourned the House twice, the second time till 3 PM.
Interestingly, some BJD members also shouted and criticised the NDA government over the matter even as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation move a "bold step."
The BJP members, however, remained silent in the House. Some of them defended the Central government outside the Assembly.
