The Odisha's Council of Ministers headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the Vote-on-Account (VoA) proposal of about Rs 33,000 crore, official sources said today.
The meeting last night approved increase in the total Budget Estimate which is projected more than Rs 75,000 crore, hike from the last year Budget 2013-14 of about Rs 67,000 crore.
"The vote on account will be moved for first four months as per tradition. The new government to be elected after the general elections will prepare and present the full Budget later," Finance Minister Prasanna Acharya said.
The VoA will be placed in the Assembly for meeting expenditure including salaries, pensions, allowances like SC & ST scholarships, payment of interest for borrowings, repayment of principal amount of loan, allocation of state share for Central Sponsored Projects, relief and restoration work and for execution of all ongoing schemes covering state's flagship programmes for the first four months starting from April to July 2014.
