Odisha government's Empowered Committee on Infrastructure (ECI) today cleared proposals for construction of six hospitals and houses for economically backward section (EWS) people in the state capital.
The hospital would be built under PPP (public private partnership) model, said Pradip Kumar Jena, secretary in-charge of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Cell.
He said the hospitals would have 800 seats, at least 359 beds would be reserved for the patients belonging to BPL (below poverty line) families.

The Committee, headed by Chief Secretary A P Padhi, also approved a proposal for construction of 23 rice storage godowns in the state.
