Odisha Government today effected a few changes in the bureaucracy and appointed IAS officer Vineel Krishna as the Chief Executive Officer of Smart City, Special Purpose Vehicle with additional charge of Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation.
Krishna, who was kidnapped by Maoists from Malkangiri district in 2011, went on central deputation as the private secretary to the Minister of Rural Development, after being released by the ultras.
Sanjeev Chopra, a 1990-batch IAS officer who is the Principal Secretary of industries department, has been given the additional charge of OMC Chairman. Chopra will also continue as chairman of Industrial Development Corporation (IDCO).

Akhila Bihari Ota, an IAS officer of 2000 batch, has been appointed as Central division Revenue Divisional Commissioner.
Similarly, 2002-batch IAS S N Girish has been appointed as Director, Special Projects and 2003-batch IAS officer Nitin Bhanudas Jawale has been posted as Tourism Director. He will hold additional charge of OTDC Managing Director.
