Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched free chemotherapy treatment programme for cancer patients in the state.
Though the cancer patients in 13 districts were already availing the facility, the programme was extended to all the 30 districts today, officials said.
All the district headquarters hospital, capital hospital and Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela will provide free chemotherapy treatment to cancer patients in the state, they said.

The cancer patients would be able to avail free consultation at district headquarters hospitals.
"Poor people, especially tribals, residing in villages will be benefited from the programme as the treatment will be available near their house," Patnaik said.
Patnaik also announced radiotherapy centres to be set up at Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda, Angul and Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar at a cost of Rs 40 to Rs 50 crore in the next two years.
