In its bid to bring all the eligible beneficiaries under the social security network in the state, the Odisha government today decided to extend the pension facility to another three lakh people.
"My government has priority to ensure rights to live with dignity for elders, widows and persons with disabilities. My aim is to see smile on all faces. The new list of three lakh beneficiaries will be prepared by August 15," Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik told reporters.
Stating that the state government would spend Rs 115 crore from its own resources for extending the facility, Patnaik said 40 lakh people are now getting pension under different social security schemes.
