With members of both Treasury bench and Opposition rushing into the Well holding placards, Odisha Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari today adjourned the House twice during the pre-lunch session.

As soon as the House assembled for the day at 10.30 AM, Leader of the Opposition Narasingh Mishra of Congress demanded the Chief Minister's resignation, referring to the Supreme Court rejecting state government's appeal against the Orissa High Court verdict exonerating former DGP Prakash Mishra in the vigilance case.

"The Chief Minister has no moral right to continue after the Supreme Court judgement," Mishra said.

However, Pujari did not allow Congress members to discuss on the issue during the Question Hour.

As a mark of protest to Speaker's denial of permission, the Congress members rushed into the Well of House holding placards and shouted slogans against state government.

Later members of the ruling BJD, too, rushed into the Well protesting Central "apathy towards Odisha."

After his appeal to members to return to their seats, the Speaker adjourned the House till 12.30 PM.

The ruling party members later staged a sit-in protest near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Assembly premises protesting Centre's "negligence towards the state.
