"The government has decied to fulfil the demand of contractual nurses. They will get Rs 3,000 per annum as dress allowance from August this year," Finance minister Prasanna Acharya told reporters here.
Acharya, who was in charge of the health department till August 2, also announced hike in the dress allowance of staff nurses from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 per annum.
All staff nurses, nursing sisters, matrons and assistant matrons besides contractual nurses would now be eligible for the dress allowance.
