Such hoax firms or persons send fabricated signature of high Officials of Reserve Bank of India. These mischiefs should not be entertained, the state government's finance department advised the people.

The RBI has, on several occasions in the past, cautioned the members of public not to fall prey to fictitious offers/lottery winnings/remittance of cheap funds in foreign currency from abroad by certain foreign entities/individuals, including Indian residents acting as representatives of such entities/individuals, an official release said.

These offers are generally made through letters, e-mails, mobile phones and SMSs. The RBI has advised general public to immediately register a complaint in the local police station and Cyber Crime Authorities whenever they come across such fraudulent offers, they said.

The RBI has also urged members of public to read the ticker on the Reserve Banks website (www.Rbi.Org.In) for details.
