Odisha makes dramatic comeback after flop show in 1st innings

Saurashtra bowled out Odisha for a mere 88 to take a 130-run first innings lead but were struggling in their second essay as they lost six wickets for just 64 runs at the end of the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group B match, here today.

Medium fast bowler Sudeep Tyagi (5/24) scalped five batsmen when Odisha began their reply while his pace colleague Jaydev Unadkat took three wickets.

Opener Paresh Patel was top scorer for Odisha with a 27-run knock and apart from him only Girija Rout (18) and Natraj Behera (19) could manage double-digit scores.

However, Odisha made a comeback into the match with a fiery bowling effort. They had Saurashtra teetering at 64 for six with Deepak Behera (3/9) and Basant Mohanty (2/12) sharing five wickets between them.
 

Saurashtra are now leading by 194 runs with four wickets in hand if Odisha clean them up quickly they have enough time to score the required runs.

Dharmendrasingh Jadeja (9) and Unadkat (0) will resume Sauarastra's innings tomorrow.
