The Odisha govenrment today sounded alert in the state in wake of the terrorist attack on an army camp in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir in which 17 soldiers were killed.
"Though there is no specific intelligence input for the state, we do not want to take any chance. The security arrangement have been tightened in airport, bus stands, railway
stations and vital installations in the coastal region," Odisha DGP K B Singh told reporters here.

Special security arrangements had been made for army bases in the state, police armouries, Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Paradip port, Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, State Assembly, Secretariat, Bhubaneswar railway station and Biju Patnaik International Airport here, he said.
This apart, the DGP said, strict vigil was being maintained in crowded places in different parts of the state. The district administration and police administration had been put in alert in the coastal districts of Puri, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Khura and Balasore.
Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, Y B Khurania said they were prepared to tackle any untoward incident in the capital city and in Cuttack. Special Tactical Unit and SOG jawans were in readiness to deal with any possible incident, he said.
