The Odisha government has sounded high alert across the state in view of India's surgical strikes across the LoC, DGP K B Singh said here.

The state government's step came after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh called up Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday and briefed him about Army's action in PoK.

Stating that strict vigil has been maintained at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here, the DGP said the security of railway stations, bus stands, hotels, major reservoirs and dams has been enhanced.

This apart, vital installations in the state like defence establishments in the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Balasore district and Shree Jagannath Temple at Puri and other such places have come under tight security scanner, Singh said.

The DGP said Quick Reaction Teams (QRT) and Special Tactical Units (STU) have been engaged to keep watch on movement of suspected people at these locations.
