Knowing well that it would cause embarrassment to his party colleagues, All India Trinamool Congress candidate Jibesh Kishore Sundaray, contesting from the Cuttack Lok Sabha seat today disapproved of the attempts by certain political parties to polarise elections in the country on religious line.
Addressing newsmen here, the model-turned-politician Sundaray also condemned the recent call made by Muslim cleric Shahi Imam asking all Muslims of the country to vote for Congress, TMC and RJD.
"I completely disapprove the religious leaders dabbling in politics", Sundaray, a former Aam Admi Party member, who joined TMC on the eve of elections, said.
Stating that the recent fracas between TMC president Mamata Banerjee and Election Commission arose out of a misunderstanding, Sundaray also said he personally condemns the attack on a polling official in West Bengal by some TMC party workers.
