Engineer-in-Chief in Odisha's Works department, Sukhdev Meher, was today suspended on charges of corruption and amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik placed Meher under suspension as he faced allegations of corruption, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said.
The anti-corruption vigilance wing had conducted search operations at Meher's residential premises in December, last year and huge amount of cash, ornaments and records about house and landed properties had been detected during the raids on his residence, it said.
