The government issued a circular strictly directing all collectors, other officers at the district level and administrative officials to behave properly with MPs and MLAs at public functions and meetings.

They were also directed to ensure that no name of an officer is put on the plaque during inauguration of any government building.

Disciplinary action will be taken against officers who fail to follow the guidelines, the circular warned.

An official said the circular was issued a few days back after a Government of India circular.
