Thane Collector has directed health officials to effectively implement Mission Indradanushya and diarrhea control programme special drive to be undertaken in the district this month.
Collector Mahendra Kalyankar was addressing a meeting of health officials here yesterday where he directed them to implement drives under the two programmes - Mission Indradanushya and diarrhea control, to be held between July 7-14 and July 11-23, respectively.
He also asked the officials to submit list of children between age bracket 0 to 2 and pregnant women in the risk pockets in the district and directed them to pay more attention in such zones.
A total of 75 risk pockets were identified in the entire district of which 7 are in Bhiwandi, 5 in Kalyan, 2 in Ambernath, the meeting was told.
In rural slums, there are 11 risk pockets in Bhiwandi, and 3 in Ambernath. Such risk pockets were also identified in hilly region, urban slums as well.
He also asked health staff to maintain adequate stock of medicines in all health centres and hospitals during monsoon.
Zilla Parishad CEO Kishore Raje Nimbalkar, civil surgeon Dr B C Kempi Patil, DHO Dr BH Sonawane, and other senior health officials were present in the meeting.
