Officials visit forward areas of LoC in JK's Poonch

A team of government officials today visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and inspected the progress in the construction of underground bunkers for border residents.

The team led by District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, visited bunker construction sites at various places along the LoC and reviewed the progress.

District administration, Poonch, is constructing dozens of bunkers in the areas that have seen repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

During his visit to Narian village which is located on the edge of Poonch with the Kashmir valley on one side and the LoC on the other, an official spokesman said that Zargar inspected the progress on the under construction link between Loran (Poonch) and Tangmarg (Kashmir) road project.
 

Zargar, who was accompanied by senior officers, also met local residents of the Sawjian hilly area and listened to their demands pertaining to basic amenities, the spokesman said.
