OGW module of LeT busted, arms cache recovered

With the arrest of two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Lashkar-e-Toiba, the Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed to have busted a terrorist module that was using passenger vehicles to ferry arms and ammunition.

"Two OGWs of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist outfit were arrested yesterday as they were transporting arms and ammunition from the bordering district of Poonch to Srinagar," a senior police officer said.

He said the two accused were arrested from a passenger bus that was on its way to Srinagar from Mandi Tehsil in frontier Poonch district.

"On specific information, we stopped the bus and conducted a search operation and recovered three hand grenades, a pistol and some ammunition," he said.
 

The two arrested OGWs have been identified as Mohammed Azam and Sikandar Khan of Chapria of Mandi Tehsil and a case under various sections have been registered with the police.

With the tightened anti-terror grid, terrorist outfits are desperate to reinforce their deleting supply of arms and ammunition.
