Former Haryana chief Minister Friday demanded reduction in taxes by the state government to provide relief to the common from high fuel prices.
He also demanded that petrol and diesel prices be brought under the GST ambit.
"Diesel and petrol prices are at all-time high. The state government should reduce its taxes to provide some relief to the public," he told reporters here.
Earlier, Hooda led a delegation of the Congress MLAs which met Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya and sought his intervention in the suspension of Congress MLA Karan Dalal from the Haryana Assembly for one year.
The delegation apprised the Governor that the Palwal MLA was recently suspended and barred from attending the sittings of the Assembly for one year after he was alleged to have used a derogatory word and unparliamentary language.
The Congress MLAs told the Governor that the ruling BJP had "violated" rules and regulations to have Dalal suspended from the Assembly.
They also demanded effective steps to control "rising crime, especially against women in state", and redressal of the grievances of the state government employees.
