Over 200 drivers today held protest demonstration here and raised anti-government slogans demanding arrest of the culprits and strict action against them.
They also demanded compensation to the family of the slained driver Ajay Sharma and safety for tanker drivers going to Kashmir Valley.
The demonstrators said their indefinite strike will continue till the culprits are found and strict action taken against them.
"We demand arrest of the killers of Oil tanker driver Ajay Sharma (Akshay), whose body was found with his throat slit in Kashmir", JKOTA president Anand Sharma told reporters here today.
"Tanker drivers should be provided with security but the government despite many reminders and promises has failed to provide us security", Sarma asserted.

The strike will continue till the time people involved in the murder are arrested, he threatened.
Akshay went missing from Pulwama area where his tanker was found on June 30 and his body was recovered from Qazigund area of Anantnag district the same day.
The owner of the tanker, Surinder Singh, was instead accused of being involved in the crime when he went to lodge a police report, Sharma claimed.
The JKOTA operates nearly 1,800 oil tankers in Jammu and Kashmir ferrying petrol, diesel and kerosene to different parts of the state.
Meanwhile, state Congress general secretary and MLC Ravinder Sharma has strongly condemned the killing of the tanker driver and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
