OKD Institute launches new course on NE studies

OKD Institute of Social Change and Development has introduced a certificate course on north east India studies to equip students with the knowledge of the region.

"The course aims at equipping the young scholars to understand the region in the overall global and national context and providing them with the theoretical knowledge required for setting their research agenda," the institute said in a press release.

The six-month full-time post graduate certificate course has been introduced to attract young scholars interested in working on the region and equip them with understanding for carrying out research on socio-political, economic, cultural, developmental, historical, environmental and gender questions.
 

Approved by Dibrugarh University, the course is designed to "encourage a new spate of scientific research required for addressing myriad themes and questions pertinent to northeEast India", the statement said.

The institution has started its admission procedures for the new course and the session will begin from August 2016.
