Ola partners with WRI to tackle carbon emission

Cab aggregator Ola has partnered with The World Resource Institute (WRI) to promote shared ride and reduce carbon emission in cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Under the campaign, Ola will install a 'billboard' at prominent junctions in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore to display and track carbon emission levels saved in real time by commuters using 'Ola Share' rides in respective cities.

"Our goal is to help cities reduce on-road congestion and unhealthy traffic jams, by encouraging more and more commuters to opt for Ola Share," Ola Head of Categories and CMO Raghuvesh Sarup said.

Univ of Chicago Booth launches programme for senior executives * University of Chicago Booth in collaboration with Northwest has launched its first-ever programme for senior executives in India.
 

The Chicago Booth Accelerated Development Programme (ADP)-India, would offer significant exposure to key business concepts and strategies in a format of over 10 months.

The programme will have three academic in-class modules at University of Chicago and Booth campuses in New Delhi, Hong Kong, and Chicago besides three workshop sessions, three online foundation programs and several peer assisted learning exercises offered by Northwest Executive Education.

It will begin in December 2016.

Future Generali India Insurance launches 'Sukshma Hospicash' * Future Generali India Insurance Company (FGII) today launched 'Sukshma Hospicash', a micro-insurance cover specifically designed to take care of the incidental expenses in case of hospitalisation.

The policy will be available both for group and retail customers, the company said in a release issued here.

This is a package policy aimed at providing financial security to the economically vulnerable population of the country. The product will be available through the company's tie-ups with banks, micro-finance institutions, NGOs and through individual agents in rural areas.

Sona Koyo Steering Systems Q1 net down 18.5% * Auto component maker Sona Koyo Steering Systems today reported 18.49 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 10.75 crore for the first quarter ended June 2016.

The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 13.19 crore in the same period last fiscal, Sona Koyo Steering Systems said in a BSE filing.

Consolidated net sales during the first quarter of the fiscal stood at Rs 346.38 crore as against Rs 374.67 crore in the same period last fiscal, down 7.5 per cent.

Online Seafood store 'Daily Fish' launched * Online seafood store 'Daily Fish' has been launched targeting a business of Rs 20 crore this fiscal from Kerala.

The brand promoted by Baby Marine group, one of the largest seafood exporters from India, has also launched its unique shipping app and delivery model, offering a variety of favourite seafood species cut, cleaned and delivered at the doorstep.

Thiruvananthapuram is the second city where it has been launched after commercial capital Kochi in February.
