Taxi aggregator Ola today slashed rates for its ride-sharing feature "Ola Share" to as low as Rs 6 per kilometre.
"With Ola Share, we are addressing the need for reliable and affordable mobility solutions, at scale. For users, there is the convenience of an air-conditioned cab ride at 50 per cent of the fare, and an option to share it within identified social groups," Ishan Gupta, Category Head - Shared Mobility at Ola, said in a statement.
Ola Share was launched with the intention of reducing pollution, and promoting congestion free roads.

Hartek Power connects solar projects to grid in Punjab * Chandigarh based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company Hartek Power has connected 28 MW solar power projects to the grid in Punjab.
"Hartek Power...Has successfully connected two solar power projects of 28 MW to the grid for a leading solar developer in Muktsar district of Punjab," the company said in a statement today.
Hartek Power commissioned the 66/11 KV substations for the 24 MW and 4 MW solar projects well before the specified deadline, it said.
The scope of work of these projects included complete turnkey solutions and post-inverter works covering the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the power plants as well as electrification and installation of substations, it added.
Hartek Group Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Hartek Singh said, "We have now set our eyes on the 500-MW solar projects recently awarded by the state government under the Phase 3 auction.

Airtel launches international roaming packs * Bharti Airtel today launched smart packs for international roaming, wherein it claims to be offering 200 per cent more data benefits compared to the nearest competitor.
The company has launched packs for countries including the US and the UK for Rs 4,999, Singapore and Thailand for Rs 2,499 and the UAE for Rs 3,999, which comes bundled with data and free incoming calls.
"Airtel smart packs offer free incoming calls and provide up to 200 per cent more data benefits than competing packs, so that customer are always connected without having to worry about bill shocks," the company said in a statement.
