Old bomb shell found from river bed in Punjab

Panic struck the people of Bareke village in Ferozepur, the town near the India-Pakistan border, this evening after a bomb shell was found.

Some labourers were cleaning a canal here when one of them noticed a bomb-like object lying abandoned in the river bed, police said.

As a precautionary measure, police reached the spot and called the bomb squad after getting the information.

The area was evacuated and after examining by the bomb squad officials, it was found out that the bomb shell did not possess any danger as it was old and rusted.
